[childe no!! but also huh. she's getting that there is a disconnect.]
With webs he shoots out of his hands. [she sounds like she's trying not to laugh.] He's a comic book character where I'm from. So all of his powers aren't really real, but they did make like three different sets of movies about him all with different origin stories.
No I get it. You know I'm a performer, too, so I always like live shows. But there's something magic about movies anyway that really makes them so cool...I wish I had more time to show you some of my favorites.
[because...yeah. she's aware that no matter what happens there isn't much time.]
[A soft smile, then, and another squeeze of her hand. Yeah. He knows, too. Not for the first time, he wishes he hadn't been assigned to her, if only to have spared her this headache--he's too destructive, at his core. He was always going to bring things crashing down, one way or another. Unsuitable to the end, no matter that she managed to flip the "big brother" switch. He can be annoyed about his own fondness, it's fine.]
Mm. I do wish I'd been able to see you perform, too.
[emotions week is bad actually because it means that he actually does get to deal with her own gross fond feelings and exasperated feelings and worried feelings. childe's a bad person? like childe's a very bad person! childe killed her other living lust!
but childe also was doing what other people have done. he just happened to live past it. and that was...her fault, wasn't it? for being selfish and scared and now there's this.
it's a mess. but it's a mess she'll have to clean up on her own later and instead she does laugh this time.]
If you're serious about that, I do have something you could watch. If you wanted. [leave gluttony alone.]
[THIS IS WHY HE WARNED YOU ALL NOT TO GET ATTACHED.
But there's no exasperation, or sense of scolding, or resentment. It's a mess, but he thrives best in those. And at least this way, he can stop pretending he wouldn't sacrifice everyone here without hesitation, if it meant achieving his goals. He's never enjoyed schemes and lies anyway.]
Of course. I'll accept anything you give me. [If that wasn't already clear.]
[GESTURES TO WHO SHE IS AS A PERSON. it's fine, this will be her own problem later. as it is, she reaches into her cloak and pulls out...a different phone? it's not the same as what everybody else has, but rather it's pink and has her signature A on the back of it.]
...a few people have asked me to dance for them, but I haven't shown anybody else yet. Here.
[and she will have a a video pulled up! except it's probably in japanese because her voice is cuter there but whatever. childe can watch that.]
[Childe is not surprised by her voice because he has heard it normally, so he just leans over to watch it, looking interested. Barbara is an idol or something but don't ask me about Genshin pop music. They have guitars? I don't know.]
You're very talented! Does it take you long to learn a new dance?
[thank you childe and also what the fuck is going on with genshin at any time.]
Thank you! I wouldn't say it takes a long time, but I'm the one choreographing it so it's whatever I wanna make up. The lyrics took a little while to write, but when I started thinking about them together it all fell into place.
[beaming. she's very happy with this compliment, thank you.]
[I'm literally just waiting for Snezhnaya to have fucking hovercars or something I don't even know.]
It's nice that you're able to do what you enjoy here, too. [Hobbies are a good thing! Even Childe has hobbies, for how little time he actually has to indulge (haha) in them. But he's pleased, too. This week is definitely harder for her than it is for him; it costs him nothing to take her mind off of it for a little while.]
Yeah! I mean my room upstairs has almost an exact copy of my computer at home so I have all of my games and my music, plus some other stuff. And I've been teaching some of the others how to dance and there are some of the participants who've been fun to dance with, too. Molly's getting good at DDR, and Shi Qingxuan and Yuel are pretty creative.
...I dunno. It's nice to have time at all, I think. [and this is why she still thinks childe can be a good person, sometimes.]
Don't we all. [Amusement, because Childe is terrible in a thousand ways. AND YEAH THAT'S BAD NEWS I hate it here.]
When it comes down to it, yes, I think so.
[Most people. His dreams are much larger, obviously, but--he can't achieve them without wanting to live long enough to do so, can he? So it still fits, he thinks, even if he'd never answer the question of "what do you want" with "more time".]

You would be stuck in the elevator shaft. Like a lizard. Or Spider-Man. [that's not how that works.]

[No ill will, on his part, towards any of them. He might think they're soft and foolish, but he doesn't dislike them.
"It's nice to have time at all", she says, and he hears I'd want to live as long as I could, and smiles.]
I don't think anyone could disagree with you there.

I don't think so either though. Isn't that what most people want? Time. A good life. That kind of thing. Whatever "good" means to them.
