[ota is not cool by any stretch of the imagination, but she adores him anyhow.]

How old's Ota, then?

[ he would be cool even if he was actually old enough to be her dad, probably. maybe. ]

He's twenty-four. But you wouldn't always know it.

[yuri with ye old dad jokes though.]

Young for his age? Ah, it's not a bad thing if you have the luxury of it. People get told to grow up way too fast sometimes.

[ and the ye olde dad quotes, apparently. ]

[probe]

Yeah. Hm...let's see. [she reaches into her cloak and pulls out a cell phone? it's different than her usual phone that everyone has and she's unlocking it to flip through a few things before showing yuri a picture.]

That's him. And Mizuki, too!

[ he'll lean over the table to get a better look at the picture. and wow, she's not kidding about ota not seemingly like his age. ]

He looks like he's around 18, not his mid-twenties. Is the other girl a friend of yours too?

Yeah, that's about right. [she says, despite being 18 herself. but there's a nod.] Mizuki's only twelve, but sometimes I feel like she's way more mature than I am. We're pretty close.

[aubins]

[ a BABY. ]

She has a mature look about her? How do you all know each other -- I get Ota's a friend of yours, but where do you know Mizuki from?

[probe]

Oh. She's my manager's daughter, so she hangs out at the studio sometimes and we spend a lot of time together.

[you know. the dead manager she just mentioned like 20 minutes ago.]

[aubins]

[ lawd. ]

... the one who-- [ hm. ] Sounds like what happened had an effect on a lot of people.

[probe]

Yeah...it's a whole chain of events that's changed everything. But it'll be okay.

[aubins]

... I hope so. Sounds like it's been difficult for multiple people.

[probe]

Yeah...but at least the case was solved, finally. That's the most important part. And Mizuki has Date and us.

[aubins]

[ he will nod like the names mean anything to him. ]

That's better than having no one to turn to.

[probe]

Yeah...[but she shakes her head.] But that's not why we came here! Finish your food, I wanna see something from your world, too.

[aubins]

-- oh right, I did promise didn't I?

[ okok. he'll finish up his food and once it's done, wander over to where the podium for the simulation room controls are. ]

Let's see...

[ he could do Abyss, but... this might be a better option. after a moment, with his hand on the panel, the room will flicker and change itself into what looks like the open interior of a very large, very old looking building. ]

Yeah. This looks about right.

[she patiently waits! and once the room changes, she stares at the tall buildings of the monastery and kind of goes "whoa..." to herself.]

It's huge.

Which means it's probably like a million for me...[be nice, lust.] It's so pretty though! This is where your academy is, right?

[aubins]

Probably! [ hey he's seen all her tech. he has no idea where to even start with most of it. ]

Yeah. It's the headquarters of both the Church of Seiros, and the Officer's Academy. It counts as neutral territory, despite practically brushing shoulders with the Empire and the Holy Kingdom.

[probe]

So as long as you're here, you're safe enough. Neutral territory means nobody can be attacked from either side, right? That's probably for the best with all the war you guys are stuck with.

[aubins]

It's neutral until someone with enough power comes along and attacks it, sure. But that has happened before.

...

Come to think of it, I do have some fond memories here. They all just got a bit overshadowed, I guess.

There was a ball there. And a dancing competition before it. Everyone just... had a good time. I got roped into actually participating in the competition itself, but aside from that? It was nice.

There was dancing, and food, and people sneaking off to go and meet each other at the Goddess Tower and see if the rumours about it were true.

[ ... ] Of course, it all went to hell not long after that.

But did you win? [it isn't like that's the important part, but she thinks it's a nice story and memory all the same especially knowing what she knows about yuri's world.]

...what's the rumor about the Goddess Tower?

[because she doesn't want to touch on what it means that everything went to hell just yet.]
