I know, I wish I could've dragged you guys up, but uh, the elevator doesn't let us bring you past the floor you're on.

[huff. she's got her hood down today, and she's the same as ever, but. her hair is still lava. seems like that's a permanent fixture.]

Seriously? It just... refuses to go past a certain floor?

[ wild ]

[ as concerning as the changes always are, her lava hair is still very striking. it fits with the whole firebird aesthetic, after all. ]

A lot of creams that seem to be telling me they’ll keep me looking young and beautiful for all eternity. Quite a lofty promise from a little plastic tub, huh?

[probe]

Sure does. When you guys are in it, anyway. [a beat.] Hey, you never know. Maybe one of them is actually telling the truth. [she scoots over to go look.]

[aubins]

Hm. No such issues with the Avatars then.

[ pfft. ]

Which one then? The one that claims to restore the skin’s natural elasticity [ what even if that he’s an olde ] via the use of snails?

[ as soon as she’s close enough, he boops her nose with a little of the cream. it’s lup review hours now. naybe. ]

[she wrinkles her nose! and then, flatly:] Wooow. I feel younger and more elastic already.

[aubins]

You look lovely as always, snail cream or not.

[ here let him just... rub that in properly. he'll focus on recapping the cream once he's done and setting it back with the others. ]

And you're perfectly bendy, no worries there. [ yuri. ]

[probe]

[HFFFT that makes her laugh.] I sure am! That's what I want to be known for. My flexibility. [stop] Flattery gets you everywhere, Mr. Leclerc.

[aubins]

It's a talent, certainly. [ hey, it is. ] And noted, I do try to keep people happy.

[ there's a pause, and then he leans to one side and gently nudges her in the side. ]

How are you doing, firebird?

[ it's a little softer, and a little more serious. ]

[probe]

[she nudges him back.] I'm okay. I'm gradually becoming more and more horrifying to look at, but it's fine! I make it work.

[aubins]

There's nothing horrifying to see here, Lup. Trust me.

[ he gives her a little tap under the chin. ] Except maybe the bags I'm probably getting under my eyes.

[probe]

Aw, that's what the makeup is for! [she teases. she leans up to kiss him on the cheek.] You're as pretty as ever, Yuri.

[aubins]

Again, I try.

[ he'll accept the kiss, and then catch her chin before she can move away. ]

And so are you, Lup. [ he'll take the chance to give her a little kiss on the bridge of her nose. ] But do say if any of this is causing you any physical discomfort or pain. We'll figure out some plan to get things back to normal.

[probe]

It's not painful. [ -- oh, she likes that little kiss, though. her ear twitches.] ... You don't have to do that. It's fine. You guys focus on you, okay? Not me or any of us.

[aubins]

I look out for me and mine, Lup.

[ oh there goes the earsie. yuri reaches up at rubs the tip of it gently. ] Wherever they are, and whoever they are.

[probe]

[yuri!!! she's sensitive, god. she squeaks, ear flicking, and then just. pretends like it didn't happen? don't look at her.] ... I guess you can do whatever you want.

[aubins]

[ he is looking respectfully.

which means he grins. and the gives the tip of her ear a lil' kiss. ]

[probe]

[she clears her throat.] ... Right, well! Anyway. I'm absolute garbo at makeup, so I'm of no use here! All I can do is a sick winged eyeliner.

[aubins]

[ heheh ]

That’s why I’m here. Although I’d argue the liner is half the battle.

I uh, don't really have any preferences. Like I said, it's more... well, actually, it's really more my brother's thing and even then he magics it all, so. Do what you want?

[aubins]

[ lup that is like letting a kid loose in a candy store and the look on his face suggests she has just sllowed that exact scenario.

but he does pause. ]

What’s your brother’s name? From what I saw of him, he does seem like he’s quite fashion oriented. [ the makeup, the clothes... the thong song dance... incredible ]

[probe]

[she looks amused at the look on his face. lord.] Oh. It's Taako. [... quietly, almost to herself:] Taako and Lup.

[aubins]

[ he's looking through the eyeshadow palettes and pulling out some deep reds and golds -- she's got the markings around her eyes but he can enhance them and make them look prettier. ]

Taako. [ he tilts his head thoughtfully. ] You... got separated from him and came here? I'm just speculating, so tell me to get lost and that I'm completely wrong if I am, but there was something about what I saw that felt a bit like a parting.

[probe]

[oh... soft, i love that.] Kind of. [she shifts.] I had something I had to do. And then I died, and he didn't know where I died. But now I'm here, and I'm going to do whatever I can to get back to him.

[aubins]

[ he's halfway through dusting some gold powder on his wrist to see how it looks when she says that, and he just stops and looks up at her: ]

You died, Lup?

[oh, oops! she forgot about that part!! she gives him a little smile.] Uh, yeah, but it wasn't the first time! I've died like, uh... I don't know, somewhere in the 40s, 50s count.
