[she looks amused at the look on his face. lord.] Oh. It's Taako. [... quietly, almost to herself:] Taako and Lup.

[ he's looking through the eyeshadow palettes and pulling out some deep reds and golds -- she's got the markings around her eyes but he can enhance them and make them look prettier. ]

Taako. [ he tilts his head thoughtfully. ] You... got separated from him and came here? I'm just speculating, so tell me to get lost and that I'm completely wrong if I am, but there was something about what I saw that felt a bit like a parting.

[probe]

[oh... soft, i love that.] Kind of. [she shifts.] I had something I had to do. And then I died, and he didn't know where I died. But now I'm here, and I'm going to do whatever I can to get back to him.

[aubins]

[ he's halfway through dusting some gold powder on his wrist to see how it looks when she says that, and he just stops and looks up at her: ]

You died, Lup?

[oh, oops! she forgot about that part!! she gives him a little smile.] Uh, yeah, but it wasn't the first time! I've died like, uh... I don't know, somewhere in the 40s, 50s count.

[ he just kinda looks at her.

I'm immediately concerned by the fact you've died multiple times, firebird.

I came back, it's fine. [she got better!] I'm - undead. A lich. I come back when I die, I've got like, uh. A backup. It's just kind of how things go.

[aubins]

[ .... huh.

a part of him feels like he should be concerned by this? undead are usually ... violent, enemies and prone to attacking, but. well. this isn't home and lup isn't that so he just, gives her a look up and down. ]

You look delightful for someone with great experience in dying and coming back to life.

... Seriously though, how did you even pull that off? A lich...?

[ he's leaning in regardless to start on her eye makeup. the conversation might be serious, but he's here to make a hot lady look hotter, and he's going to excel at it. ]

Aw, thanks babe. No, uh, it's... it's a process. Magic. You take your soul, and you separate it from your body. It takes a lot of raw magic power to do and it can send you over the edge if you don't do it right.

But I did do it right, because I'm a really powerful wizard when I'm not here.

[ he's dabbing something around the marks surrounding her eyes, focusing on that as much as what she's saying. ]

And... what that makes you functionally immortal? You said it's a process you've gone through a number of times, the whole dying and coming back to life thing but... how does that work, do you just have to reunite with your body each time?

Sure does.

[she is very patient and easy to put makeup on!]

Yeah, it's... like, uh, possessing my body. It has to be living, it's - a whole thing, it's too complicated to explain. Magic. But I died that last time and I got stuck without a body, so - now I'm here.

[aubins]

At least things are predictable in that respect.

[ he's going for something like this, mostly enhancing what's already there. ]

[ and then he reaches out and pinches her cheek. ]

You don't feel like you don't have a body, Lup. In fact, I'd say you've always felt like you've had a body? [ he. is probably qualified to say that at this point. he knows this body. ]

also that makes her burst into giggles.] That - okay, yes, I have one right now. I didn't before I got here. But this is all real. It's what I look like usually, just uh -- well. Sort... sort of.

[her ears twitch back, sadly.] I used to look a lot like Taako.

[ cute makeup for cute lups. ]

Yeah. That's what I mean.

[sensitive about the way she looks, but not for the reasons you'd think.]

[ he's a femblem ye olde he probably won't Get It, or it'll take a bit. ]

I wouldn't say you're impossible to tell apart, but I have known you a few weeks now.

[ eyeshadow finished, he's gonna do some gold liner. black would just blend in too much. ]

We usually wear our hair differently, but.

[she pauses.] I don't know. I like looking like him.

[aubins]

[ liner... liner... ]

Did you ever do those tricks where you pretended to be each other to confuse people?

[probe]

[snort.]

Yeah. One time, uh - one time we were at a tavern, and this guy would not lay off on Taako, so he was like, "Okay, we can go on a date, and I'll know it's a bad idea if me from the future runs in and slaps me," and I kicked the door open, slapped him, and ran away.

The look on that guy's face. Hah! Incredible.

[aubins]

[ there's a pause and then he has to stop drawing liner on her eyes because he's laughing too much. ]

That is the best way to turn someone down.

[probe]

Sometimes you have to go hard!

[aubins]

Memorable too. That guy won't be forgetting that for a long time.

[ when he has his laughter under control, he'll go back to that liner and finishing touches ]

[probe]

[she keeps her eyes closed, and then:]

Desperately. [softer:] He's my whole heart.

[aubins]

[ he leans back, the eye make up mostly finished, and caps off the liner. he'll add a little mascara, before giving her a lil' kiss on the forehead. ]

Is... that what you're here for? Trying to get back to him?

[ there's a pause and then: ]
