literally all of the color drains out of sqx's face as she recognizes these people, and she bites down on her lip to keep herself from shrieking. it's not real. it can't be real, right? this is... they just woke up here. usually it's just four of them who go missing. this can't be, it isn't -
[ aoi is somehow not panicking. she is headed over to check out the tv though and see if it turns on. just ignoring that endorsi has to babysit her, sorry.
she's a little mumble-y because she can't quite figure out her own volume with her ears as they are, but: ]
Maybe they're... Like the ones in the tubes.
[ if nothing else, being from a game means aoi has decent pattern recognition, and this. is not how deaths usually work here????? shE HOPES??? ]
[there are a few corpses (?) that make her expression shutter, but—]
White...?
[for a second, she looks like she's going to reach out to him, but it's not real. it's not real, she reminds herself. she - has to believe it's not real. she pulls out the piece of paper and looks at it, forcing herself to look away from him.]
[ Her grip on the scissors turns her knuckles white when she sees the familiar faces. ]
It's an illusion meant to disorient us.
[ Her voice is cold with fury. It has to be an illusion. All the other cases of people missing like this.... seeing copies of people they know but aren't them. It has to be same. She refuses to accept otherwise.
She begins looking around the corpses(?) to see if there's anything sticking out from them outside of their bleeding and deadness. ]
[the TV does turn on! it's sort of like turning on a program in the middle of a tornado/siren warning. it makes a very alarming sound, and shows a blue screen that reads UPDATE MINI INTEGRATED LIFE FORMS in a blinding red font. the lights in the room flicker, and in the distance there's thudding.
the paper endorsi finds seems to be another one of those grey tags. this one reads NAME OF DECEASED: DEAN WINCHESTER. the other information is scratched out, but under CAUSE OF DEATH: it reads SENT TO HELL.
medb does a look at the bodies - they're all icy and cold, but they feel pretty real. fleshlike, and a little stiff. however, when she looks at childe in particular, she finds that there's a red wire sticking out from under his shirt collar.]
anyway, sqx sincerely hates this! the sound of thudding, in particular, also has her arming herself with a pair of scissors from the cups on the table. but once she's got that, she's going to start with yuri's corpse and check his clothing for any items he might have on his person. if she's not stopped, she'll check on the others (sans childe, since medb's handling him) too.]
[she pockets the tag even as she frowns at the sudden siren and thudding - but while sqx starts with yuri, endorsi heads over to white to carefully check him over in turn, very carefully.
regardless of how fake she thinks this is, she looks furious, though she stays silent.]
[ Does having bleeding ears make the tornado siren better or worse? A mystery. That's the second item on their to do list bright on the TV screen, isn't it?
She frowns because she has no clue what that means and turns her attention back to Childe(?). I hate Childe Genshin Impact's clothes, but Medb will maneuver his stupidly tailored shirt to see where that wire goes. ]
[she notices there's a blue wire sticking out from under yuri's shirt, when she checks. there are no items or anything in the other people's clothing - well, except for on harrow. harrow has a bottle of golden liquid in her pocket when sqx checks. does she take it?
aoi is just chilling by the vent. the thudding sounds are louder around here.
endorsi finds a yellow wire sticking out of white's shirt, straight out through the cloth. when she looks a little closer, it seems like there's something under his shirt, though she'd have to take it off in order to see better.
as for medb, she manuevers childe's stupid crop top thing to find that his chest is just... made of wires? it's a panel, opening out on either side, with a mechanical heart and a jumble of wires in various colors. the red wire is sticking out obnoxiously, free unattached to anything in his chest.]
[under yuri's shirt, huh? well, she'll just have to take off his shirt to get a better idea of what's going on with that... which she'll do after checking on harrow.
she does indeed take the golden liquid! she also checks harrow over for any wires that might be peeking out, and she'll look under her clothes to see where they lead if she has to. aoi please come away from the vent so she doesn't have to do double body duty.]
[ aoi doesn't want to strip these dead bodies though? why is that a thing we have to do!!
but in the interest of speeding things up she will come over and check harrow... she feels bad making everyone else do it, after all... while checking harrow's body and the wire, aoi glances over to? childre? ]
[when sqx takes the golden liquid, she feels as though it's... very important to someone.
harrow has a pink wire sticking out, and it leads to a similar panel. white has one too, endorsi will find. the rest of the wires all seem to be properly connected, it's just these lone ones sticking out from the panels.
medb picks up the red wire...
all at once, the backs of your necks are... itchy? and kind of sore. if you reach up to touch, you find a wound that wasn't there before. obviously you can't see the back of your own neck, but to everybody else, it looks almost like an ethernet port shaped wound has just been jammed into the back of your neck. touching it makes you feel dizzy and tired.]
[she doesn't know enough about computers to know what a port is, but she reaches up to touch the back of her neck as well - and closes her eyes as the vertigo and exhaustion take over for a second.
once that ends, though, she's also trying to see if there's any way to connect white's stray wire to the panel attached to him.]
Medb experiences the dizziness and tiredness, too, because she can't not touch. She stumbles a little and holds herself up on the chair Childe is seated in. ]
[the loose wires do, in fact, have connectors at the ends. and they do seem to match the gross new neck ports, wow!
there doesn't seem to be any other way to connect the wires at first glance, though endorsi is welcome to try and dig around in white's circuits if she really wants to.]
[sqx is still slumped over, feeling dizzy, because she hasn't fully pulled her hand away from the neck port. dumbass.]
...should we...?
[put them in?? she can't see anyone else's from this vantage point but hopefully someone who is looking can tell if there's like. matching colors or something. do their neck port wounds come with helpful color-coded outlines or something.]
...I get the feeling all of us are going to have to do it. Four of them for four of us, right?
[she doesn't really want to mess around with the panel on his chest, though somehow this course of action doesn't seem quite right, either. neither did crawling into an ominous dark vent, though.
there's a moment where she does glance at aoi's port wound to make sure they aren't color coded, like sqx suggested they might be - but if they aren't, she'll plug white's into her own neck. or try to, given that she can't see it at all.]
however, all of the girls except sqx are just yoloing, so it's fine!
endorsi plugs the port in. medb plugs the port into aoi.
they feel - fine, for a moment. and then there's a whirl of color, only visible to them. eight colors flash wildly, almost seizure inducing, and then there's a burst of pain, centered around the back of their necks. it feels like something biting them, and then trying to crawl into their heads, itching up the backs of their skulls. something warm and furry wraps itself around them, and their vision shorts out.
tired. you're so tired. you're so tired of this, of being here. maybe you should just crawl into bed and never get out again. never go back down again. you're exhausted, every day, every week, for weeks, for months.
their energy is sapped out of them - it's enough to bring them to their knees. the wires rip out of their necks violently, zipping back into harrow and white's chests, and harrow and white disappear in a burst of grey smoke.

I have a red wire over here. I think... we need to do something. For how to update.... them?
[ Maybe. She doesn't know if these are the mini integrated life forms or whatever. Is her hearing even good enough to hear the thudding from the vent?
Danger could come, and their damaged hearing will kill them.
Anyway, if it's not attached, she's just going to pick up the red wire. Hope this kills her. ]
