[never mind tomorrow there will be an execution after all and it's going to be greed's. he's half-tempted to splash some of the dolphin's water at gojou to get him to stop talking but simultaneously it's hard to pretend to be completely annoyed. he's like 70% annoyed because wow, rude.]

Considering today, I highly doubt anyone will care about the old cases. It's as you've said. Their focus will now shift to the monster they can identify.

You'd have to ask them. The dead are gone, as you know. We've never guaranteed they can come back, though we can't say it's entirely impossible either. We've never seen the wish mechanic actually work. So to completely discount that seems foolish, but it's equally foolish to put all of your hope into it.

In a sense...to help them, sure, figuring out what to do about this thing is a priority. But the dead shouldn't be an afterthought either. It becomes complicated given their relationship with it.

Hard to say I disagree when I chose not to say anything most of the time.

Your thoughts? [for as often as gojou wants greed to explode and vent, it's the same in reverse especially now knowing there's definitely more there.]

I’m worried if I dwell in it too much I might entertain killing almost everyone.

Almost everyone. [odd.] And thus the reason you don't dwell at all, or even give much attention to it. Understandably so.

Though I have to wonder if that will be enough going forward. [he doesn't have an opinion either way, but it's more curiosity.]

Some people I like enough, whether I trust them fully or not. It's personal bias and I won't lie about that.

[ He shrugs. ]

I could spin that killing them all would make my bundle safer since I'm sure all their hands are dirty in some way... But logically there wouldn't be meaning in so many deaths. It doesn't guarantee safety at all. Indulgence points for my wish isn't a good incentive, either.

In a game like this, it would be far more surprising if all of you didn't have biases. It isn't as though we don't have some biases ourselves.

[thoughtful, though.] You're correct about both of those things. It would hardly be beneficial and in the end it still wouldn't be enough. But simultaneously...[...he doesn't quite know what to say, actually, so he just lets it lie after that.]

It's difficult to say what the right answer is.

I thought that was obvious. [a wry sort of statement, but it's also the truth and he does nothing to hide that.]

I've begun to realize that my personal opinions really don't hold enough weight here like they normally would. [which is annoying.] People will do what they wish to do on the basis of acting now and apologizing later. And I believe Pride may have said it best...the idea that people have morals only until they don't. Several of you seem to have an idea of what justice is, what the truth is, and how it's important...but only when it fits the narrative you want to tell.

I don't necessarily care if people disagree with me. But blatant hypocrisy is a very interesting look.

Yeah, that's the reason why all of this annoys me so much. I'll get over it because this is just a blip in my life, but... Still irritating. It's not the first time everyone swerved.

[there's another flurry of messy, complicated feelings of his own. it's harder to decipher his because he doesn't linger long enough, or maybe he has more feelings about this than he wants to bother with, but eventually it settles to something quiet.]

I suppose it is. [he's not entirely sure he agrees, but it's like he said. he doesn't care if people have other opinions.] We'll have to wait and see.

I never expected anything more than you're willing to give. [which can be said for pretty much everyone on the base, because greed learned from a very early age that you can't expect anything from anyone except yourself, and even then it may not be enough.

so there's another scribble of strange emotions that mostly settle on neutral and vaguely appreciative when gojou joins him on the floor. we all truly wish to be this dolphin.]

I've had enough people vent at me without asking for permission. I think it's only fair to say it's within your right to if that's what you want.

And that's a good way to go, though there's nothing wrong with having a leap of faith.
