[ wow... sad. if only gojou could ask "but did you kill anyone?" ]
I'm saying you didn't choose to come out like that. [ WITHOUT BODY PARTS, GUN BLAZING. ] If you want to apologize specifically for yourself, then fine.
I decided I like spending time with you! You remind me of someone from home. [ It's that simple. ] So all the usual things like wanting to check up on you, then wanting to talk about the books you recommended me... I guess it came naturally?
[ Squints. He isn't sure if those words are right, but they feel right. ]
...oh. [it's said kind of softly like they're not sure what the fuck to do with that knowledge, or, more accurate, like they're not sure why on earth that would be the case. and maybe it's a little of something else, but they don't elaborate.] Someone important, or someone else?
[it doesn't matter much, but they're curious.] Erm. To clarify, it isn't...that is to say, that's fine. If that's what it is.
My junior! He's a sorcerer like me, but more... Normal. Used to be a corporate slave at some company, but came back. Very big on rules and procedure type of guy. [ Nodding. ] Efficient.
[ Greed: is it a or b. Gojou: LET ME TALK ABOUT MY FAVORITE JUNIOR. It's very fond, like a puppy talking about their other puppy friend... ]
You're a lot nicer than him, though. He insults me in front of my student.
Perhaps you deserve the insults at the time? [it's a very innocent question? what was that about greed being nicer? but there's still something in their demeanor that seems a bit intrigued while gojou talks.]
There isn't anything wrong with maintaining certain procedures. [...] Why did he come back after leaving?
I guess insult isn't the proper word. He cleared up that he doesn't respect me.
[ is... is that any better? Huh. Give him a moment? ]
What was it that he said? [ He changes the tone of his voice: ] "I studied at Jujutsu Tech and one thing I learned... Is that jujutsu sorcerers are shit! Then I worked at your typical company, and one thing I learned... Is that work is shit!
If both are equally shit, I'll take the one I'm more suited to."
Men of that caliber hardly ever reveal their true motivations until necessary. [and from the way it's said, it's likely they're including themselves in that.] But, simultaneously, they would hardly return to something they left if they didn't see a value in it.
[for some people it's the reasoning behind the work. for other people, it's the people involved. who can say, really, what nanami's reasonings are?
it's why greed goes quiet again...]
I suppose...if I were to meet him, I might even agree with him.
[gojou can be mean to them again later, it's fine. it's what greed deserves. as it is though they don't seem to mind this line of questioning and even if their hood is hiding their face, there may be the sense that there's a mildly quizzical look.
it's something to think of in their own time.]
It would be rude to ignore the question, yes. [that's not how kindness week works, but it is now.]
[they tilt their head slightly, almost like they're a bit smug.]
It varies between Avatars. Some of them know what your wishes are. Some of them don't give a damn in the slightest if you're not aligned with them. Some of them are forgetful.
...and some of us have extensive notes but would prefer to hear it in your own words anyhow. And besides, some people's desires have changed upon coming here.
...in theory, yes. As I've explained to a few others, it's not necessarily that your "wish" is locked in. Rather, what you're gathering indulgence for is to obtain the power necessary for whatever it is you want. Some desires are greater than others, hence they require more indulgence to the overall pool you've been earning as a collective.
It's also why we're unable to specify a time limit. It truly is up to you and how quickly you can gather enough indulgence for that power.
That makes a lot of sense... I thought depending on your wish, the power is tailored to help you accomplish that specifically, so if you change your wish then the power would not be as effective in comparison. This clears it up, though.
[ Nodding a lot. Longest pause. ]
I don't know why I acted so shocked when I'm not planning on changing mine.
Since I feel like you're the type of person to keep secrets and I also don't care if it gets out, yeah. For my students and anyone around their age, I'd like the power to keep them from breaking—changing the jujutsu world is the big plan here.
It was tough for me and my peers when we were their age... I can't say all of us grew up to be well-adjusted adults. I want it to be different for them. They should be able to laugh from their hearts even as they grow up to be bitter members of society.
[ His already crazy kids, but... There is a bit more to the wish, like he's talking or thinking of someone else, too.
I don't exactly make it my business to share what's been said to me. [first of all. so it's not like greed is going to tell anyone even if gojou hadn't implied it's a secret for some reason.]
...but I understand. [it seems like that's all they'll say for a while. the dogs have settled down around them and greed folds their arms over their chest to look up at gojou again.]
It isn't a terrible thing to want. I'm unsure why you were so resistant to saying so. [even knowing about the person gojou had lost due to the failings of the world around them.]

I would hardly call pointing a gun "no reason", actually. [flatly.]
