...in theory, yes. As I've explained to a few others, it's not necessarily that your "wish" is locked in. Rather, what you're gathering indulgence for is to obtain the power necessary for whatever it is you want. Some desires are greater than others, hence they require more indulgence to the overall pool you've been earning as a collective.
It's also why we're unable to specify a time limit. It truly is up to you and how quickly you can gather enough indulgence for that power.
That makes a lot of sense... I thought depending on your wish, the power is tailored to help you accomplish that specifically, so if you change your wish then the power would not be as effective in comparison. This clears it up, though.

Since I feel like you're the type of person to keep secrets and I also don't care if it gets out, yeah. For my students and anyone around their age, I'd like the power to keep them from breaking—changing the jujutsu world is the big plan here.

In a sense, both. Gluttony and I have been researching about these phenomenons and went out to seek answers ourselves. Pride had their own specific answer they wanted to find, and Envy felt like coming along. We were purposefully looking for a way, but we were still caught off-guard anyhow.

We've compared the fundamentals of the trips as a whole like being taken away somewhere and finding your guys' items, but from what I remember we mulled more about the essence—a trial or something. No one said specifics aside from myself when I clarified what was expected of my group when we wanted to leave. Wasn't hard to tell everyone had a hard time, though.
I personally think location is pretty important... Childe told me his was "Hexagon Island" and the location would change, but it's related to someone with him? When I got magicked away, it was a grim hotel with a dark hallway and the location did not change aside from this door on my floor. Might have been the same for the others. Anyway, the hotel wasn't familiar to me nor anyone I was with.

According to the research we've done and the things we've heard from all of you, there are three factors that remain the same. First and foremost, the vanishing is never on purpose. Secondly, there are always people, objects and tasks that are familiar, usually those designed to test your resolve without any sort of relief. And lastly, there's an underlying theme that ties into one of our namesakes, regardless of who is accounted for.
I had initially thought it was a test of your will, to push you and see how far you were willing to go in order to obtain your desires. While that's likely true, that again is where the difference lies between us and yourselves. Ours wasn't a test.
