Maus and I are at the dog park. I'm afraid I've neglected him a bit these last few days.

[if grace wants to join them, since their texts are starting to rack up.]

which is to say grace will gladly join them at the dog park, immediately crouching and offering maus a... normal dog treat and not a bone. once was enough. ]

Hiiii Mauuus. Aren't you the best dog in the whole park?

[ unlike eleanor's stupid fire breathing dog ]

[greed and maus are sitting on the grass in the dog park, which means that when grace approaches with a treat maus is immediately on his feet and barking happily to snatch it from her fingers.]

Mind your manners, Maus. [maus drops the treat and wags his tail with a small yip of thanks before taking it again. his treat now.]

[alteracion]

[ grace sits down next to them both, immediately going for petting the dog thank ]

I know it was probably just scared, but I'm still mad at that other dog. Maus is so much better. [ :/ ]

[maus armycrawls his way closer to grace to be in petting range while eating his treat.]

Are you mad because it incinerated the shrimp, or because it didn't stay behind?

Kinda both? I don't think the shrimp were that important, but. That was a little annoying too.

[ but really bitch could have stayed instead of running off after she made the effort to find it. damn. maus is getting ALL the pets instead ]

I imagine it's because the dog wasn't relevant to the case after that. Perhaps it heard a sound only it could hear to beckon it back to the park?

[maus is perfect and it shows that greed is biased when they scritch their dog on his widdle head.]

[alteracion]

It sounds weird when you put it like that. [ it's fine maus is getting all the pets from two people now ] I mean, so long as it's fine or whatever. But who knows, maybe we could have used it to check everyone to see who killed Eleanor.

[ she's kidding ]

While that wouldn't be the most unorthodox method I've seen used in a courtroom, I don't think that would have gone quite as you imagine.

[alteracion]

I mean, I figure he'd have just set anyone and everyone on fire...

[ a beat and she leans forward, eager ]

I've been a part of many cases that have been out of the ordinary, to say the least. Nearly all of the cases I've acted as prosecution have been murder cases.

[alteracion]

But did you bring on a dog as a witness?

[ lifts maus' paw. like she is making the point using him ]

[alteracion]

[ i mean it's bad greed keeps being accused of murder but on the other hand, no, that's just straight up funny and she's laughing ]

That one worked out in your favor, too, though. [ she nudges greedworth with maus' paw, because the dog is letting her do things ] So I'm not seeing the downside in trying to use a dog as evidence next time. Even if they're naughty and breathe fire everywhere.

[i can't i hate phoenix so much. maus lets this happen and greed catches maus's paw to swing it a little, like a gentle handhold.]

The difference is that a parrot can speak. I can't imagine a dog would provide much evidence given they're prone to being friendly to most people. [he gets what she's trying to say, but he's arguing anyway.]

On the other hand, I truly wish they hadn't involved the dogs in the first place.

[alteracion]

You'd need a really loyal dog, I guess. [ alas. and she makes a face when he mentions not involving dogs ] Yeah, I have no idea what Eleanor was thinking for... pretty much all of that.

[ why would you bring a dog to a murder. why would you set up a cocktail sauce trap. wh y ]

Neither do I. [wryly. the whole thing was a mess to be honest.] I didn't think to ask either, obviously.

Yeah, that's the downside with all these murders. We can't exactly ask the victims what they were thinking. Like... why go out for croissants in the middle of the night.

I can only assume Valentino didn't realize what time it was. You do know the clocks here aren't all synced very well.

Greed, I know you're a lawyer, but you don't have to defend stupid choices.

[ gently deposits maus in greed's lap ]

Well, the killers are to blame anyway. They're the ones with the stupider choices. [ speaking of, though. she sits cross legged, leaning her elbows on her knees ] ... Apparently Misa heard you get more indulgence killing someone.

[it's just grace, so he cares a lot less if she sees him holding his dog carefully. almost a cuddle. not quite though.]
