Sometimes! He's a surprisingly sweet guy. But I think you already know that.

Yup. [she seems to perk up at that. pride is a good dad!!] He's the best even if he won't say so and gets all weird and grumpy when I say so.

It's nice to know he's trusting people a little more.

It sounds like he's had a really rough time, so... I just things get better for him.

Yup! It's sort of funny actually. [is it. hm.]

...but he has. He deserves a lot of good things to make up for the bad things that've happened. I'm glad other people are acknowledging that, too.

Funny in the sense that our healthcare system has completely failed us...?

He does. It sucks that the bad times just keep coming, like— Come on! This is way past the rule of three. He's overdue for some good.

Mental health is a very important issue that people still don't give enough attention to. [stop.]

Sometimes I think he's happier being miserable because he at least knows how to handle that instead of hoping for something good and having it taken away. But it's still not fair to him, so...thanks for talking to him. It helps.

[she likes most people but she is especially soft for pride for reasons.]

Oh, Pride... I like talking to him. He's a good friend, and he deserves so much more than that. Life should be about living! Enjoying yourself! You shouldn't be surviving day to day, miserable. That's not what life's about.

Uh huh. [she sounds so amused because those people probably deserved it.]

But also like...there's this tweet I saw once that was like "when I was 7 I had a crush on a girl in my class and didn't know how to deal with it, so I wrote her a letter that just said 'get out of my school.'" Dealing with Pride is sort of like dealing with that.

Definitely minus the crush! Pride only has eyes for his wife...it's kind of really romantic.

Not just kind of, completely romantic. It's so sweet that he's a total family man.

Yeah. They're really important to him and I don't blame him at all. It's why it really makes me mad when people don't even try to understand him and give him space.

[because to her pride is a very good person even though for a while she was also convinced pride would sell her to satan for one cornchip. it's fine.]

I think some people do though. There's so many of you and so many of us I don't blame anybody for deciding not to try again. What I do blame people for is being mad at them on someone else's behalf and thinking they're owed anything.
