Well, it depends on if my universe manages to stay fucking standing.

Ohhh. End of times, huh? That has to be a bummer! So if your universe stays standing...?

... Well, if it stays standing [and if he lives to see its survival] then I'd probably go back to being human first. There's a doctor who was coming up with a way to do that—turn a Deman like me back into a human, I mean.

[not that white doesn't enjoy his power, per se, but... in the end, it was never meant to be his, or anyone but lessa's, and white's aware that there's no place in the world for a deman anymore.]

Long for the mortal life? Not sure how that'd be myself. I've never been mortal! But a lot of them sure come through work.

Doesn't sound very easy!

Being a mortal again would suck, honestly.

[does he even deserve it? to live the normal life he'd craved as a kid, after spending his adult life as a mass murderer? he doesn't know.]

But being a Deman only worked when we had a society and all that crap, so the idea of being left as the only one in the world would suck even more. Everything would be so friggin' inconvenient.

The only one, huh... That sounds... well, um, it sounds really sad, if I'm honest!

Even though my brother is so busy with work, and Mom doesn't really talk to me much... I still would be really darn sad if they weren't there at all anymore!

Well, like I said, most of us are already dead, and I'm pretty sure the few who aren't are gonna get the operation. Doesn't make a lot of sense for me to be the odd one out. [...] You've got family?

Maybe being odd isn't so bad, you know! The last remaining of your kind! You'd be really special!

None?! But even gods have parents! I... I don't know if I could take not having at least my brother! We've always been together!

My parents died when I was a baby. I grew up on my own.

[well, there was his caleb, his "godfather", but the idea of considering him as family in any way would make white barf.]

When you don't have anyone else, you get used to it.

...Wow! They really just went and died on you! They really should have been more careful.

I'm not sure I can relate. My brother is always super busy with his work now, so I hardly see him. But... if I'm honest...? I kind of miss him! I don't think he's very happy with me, though.

[white has absolutely no idea what to say to that comment about his parents, wow. he supposes??? it's still way better than when he thought they just went and abandoned him, at least.

[they are actually shockingly quiet for a long moment, and they look away idly.]

I might be getting fired soon! I'm a little behind on my work, I guess. I try to keep up, but I just enjoy drawing on the edge of the papers so darn much! It gives them character!

Gods have to do paperwork?

Ab-so-lute-ly! You wouldn't believe the amount of paperwork! That's okay, though. I'm not exactly in administration, so it isn't so bad for me!

I just have to make sure all the lists are tallied.

Sounds boring as hell.
