a single, spiraled horn juts out of his forehead, and his eyes are completely black save for the silvery pupils and irises. two small wings sit where his ears would be.]

I'm not worried. [maybe a little.] Just curious. Besides, I don't plan on dying here but it might happen, so it'd be nice to have some idea of what might happen to my soul.

Well, I... can't really say, White, sorry! But I can tell you that I'd take care of your soul for you, if you want! Carrying souls to the afterlife is really my brother's job, but I still take care of the ones who come in!

Believe it or not, I'm not the one who deals with any dead people! Funny, huh? You go from seeing Shades all the time, every single day, to not even having one to account for!

And then they have to get through three levels of the underworld with all the things that can kill them! But some mortals like to play tricks--or, worse, get help from the Olympian gods! That's always a headache. And, man, so much paperwork! Some are just lucky, I guess. Like the king's musician!
Why, want to come work at the House as security? You and Cerberus would probably get along! Not sure about the Furies, though...
Nooo, no, no, no. No way! I don't do anything with security. I check Shades coming in off the list, and if they aren't accounted for--well, it goes up the chain until it gets to Lord Hades!
