Wrath didn't tell you about it? [Because Gu Yun was on the adventure with him and gave Wrath their hat back, and if Wrath and Lust are close, he would've assumed they'd talk about it. But no matter.] Yes, it was fine. It was actually a person, or something like that, I think? I don't really know... anyway, we were trying to return its power to it, so we could get out of the illusion. We were being attacked at the time, though, so it was the best I could do under the circumstances. There was no time to run it to him safely.

[He doesn't yeet baby goats for fun, Lust, he is not that kind of maniac.]

Well...Wrath went to see you guys pretty much right away, and then Luca died. [so lust hasn't really been that interested in talking to many people.]

The goat was a person? Like a shapeshifter? And you lost your hand because you threw it at Gu Yun? [? ? ? what the fuck actually.]

I guess if that's really what you had to do I can't blame you...what else happened in there?

[Correction, Wrath went to see Gu Yun right away--but Childe doesn't specify, because, yeah. Luca. Childe refuses to get attached to anyone here, because he's not an idiot, but he liked Luca well enough. His Russian-speaking buddy...]

Something like that, I think. It told us it needed its power back to get us out of there. And Primrose--well, something that looked like Primrose--attacked the Marquis, so it was up to me to get to it first. And then "she" came after me once I returned its power.

[For how shitheaded they are to each other, they actually work together incredibly well as a team. Terrible. And for all of Childe's power lust, he can see the bigger picture.

But speaking of, he reaches for the book with his other hand.]

We found a few things, while we were there. Is this Envy's?

Sounds pretty bad. [but that's all they say before suddenly there's a book and they lean forward to look at it.]

How'd you guess? [there's a laugh.] I bet they'd really appreciate it if you gave it back to them.

[toyska]

[Naaaah. He had fun. Let him go back and fight fake Primrose more.]

I was told as much, but I wanted to confirm it with you first. [It's just habit, by now, to cross-check as much information as he can. But he nods; he'll return it, then.] Vlad had the blanket, so I'm not sure what's happened to it, but I believe the Marquis still has the figurine. Are either of those yours?

Hm...neither of them are mine, but I think the blanket got returned already, so don't worry about that! The figurine still need to go back to its rightful owner though.

Is it Greed's? [A blanket seems like something Sloth would like.] Or is that something you can't tell me?

[probe]

[a shrug!]

You could always take it to them and ask?

But he just nods, giving his hand a slight tug. If he can have it back, he'll get some tea steeping for both of them.]

I will, if the Marquis hasn't done so already.

[oh. hand! they let go.]

Sure. The owner will probably appreciate it even if they won't say so.

[Well, that narrows it down. But he'll start getting some black tea ready, taking a seat at the table.]

Something tells me it really is you, holding this whole group together.

[childe has a seat and lust leans forward in theirs a little, blinking at him from under the hood.]

What makes you say that?

Just the variety in your personalities. It takes a strong person to maintain such a cohesive team.

[Pride literally killed Envy last week]

We're all really different, you're right, but...some of us just know how to talk to each other better than the others. Wrath knows how to talk to Despair, Despair deals with Gluttony, and I can talk to Pride. Wrath knows how to control Greed, too, and Envy listens to me and Wrath a lot. And Sloth's just easy to get along with period.

[toyska]

[For a minute, there's a look on his face like he's debating saying something that he knows will get him in trouble. He manages to push it back, though--instead just tilting his head slightly.]

Control Greed? What do you mean?

[probe]

Kind of like how I can control Pride. [so it's just phrasing.] They're both really hard to talk to on a good day, but if you know the right things to say you can get them to agree to things.

[toyska]

[Ah, that makes sense.]

Speaking of Pride--Envy's fully recovered, yes? No further incidents?

[probe]

Yeah! Well, I dunno if Envy's been stabbed since then but they seem to be staying out of each other's way for now. And besides, you saw it yourself. He came back just fine.

[toyska]

How lucky... I wish we could do that.

[He looks so wistful... imagine how great fights would be if you could just pop back to life at the end of them... (no)]

Immortality shouldn't be taken lightly, you know. [childe no!]

[toyska]

[For some reason, that gets a dry laugh out of him, humorless.]

Trust me, I know.

...it's kind of interesting to think about. There are a few different legends where I'm from about it, like the one about this shrine I like to visit sometimes. The old texts say that one day, a man sent one of his followers on an urgent quest to find a mysterious magical fruit. It was a fruit that would grant you immortality if you ate it. The journey took forever, but by the time the fruit was located the man who had requested it had died. The follower mourned for the loss of his idol, and he gave half of the fruit to the man's wife instead while leaving the other half on his idol's grave. After that? He died.

But they say that the fruit is still in the shrine. It's a shrine to the gods, so I guess it makes sense. I've always wondered about it though.

[Well, his very first thought is "Zhongli wouldn't have eaten it, he's too picky even when I'm not around to buy his meals for him" but he's not about to get into that, so.]

What happened to the wife?

Hm...would you want to be immortal when the people you care about aren't around anymore?

[toyska]

[Ah...

He's quiet for a little while, taking a drink of his tea. His face is unreadable, and his eyes are, as always, lacking the light of life.]

That's a complicated question for someone like me.
