[they shake their head.] We haven't looked into the research room much yet. But I'm sure by now you've heard of some of your own disappearing to mysterious places.

You don't think that depends on the person and personal opinions? [ interesting. he's heard so many variations of what people think about what happened. from "good riddance" to "the wrong choice was made". ]

Yes. It... well it's happened twice now, so presumably weekly. Should we be bracing ourselves for something happening over the next couple of days just in case?

No, because there's only one correct answer for what happens on Thursday nights regardless of people's opinions and the people involved. The only thing that changes is how people feel about their choice.

[they pause to think that over.] I don't know. Unfortunately we aren't getting many answers regarding these circumstances, so it's becoming difficult to predict when it may happen. There hasn't been a pattern so far.

But preparations are never a bad thing, Leclerc.

Oh, on Thursday night, sure. Someone kills someone else and that's who we're meant to find. It gets more complicated when we fail to do so and are still required to vote. [ the... ambiguity of it. fukuda can both be a mass murderer who was wrong, and dangerous, and also someone who hadn't done anything wrong here. regardless of whether that came with an unspoken "yet" or not.

... Right, well I'll expect the arrive of some bloodied up familiar faces on Thursday and try and get them to the med bay as soon as possible.

Is it like the recalibrations though? Things just change, and people get caught up in it, like with the executions?

The thing that's incredibly aggravating about all of you is that you do get closer than you think and then abandon your line of thought to focus on something else entirely, the moment someone pokes a hole in your logic despite the fact that the hole may not even be true. Or the heavy focus on food.

[but they nod.] It's...we can't guarantee they're the same as recalibrations. But they are similar. The difference is that when people disappear, we can't see where they are or what's happening to them.

[aubins]

[ becks, oocly: stop i'm fragile don't call us out like this. ] ... Well at least that's a confirmation we're not swinging and missing the mark by a mile. Maybe people could stop including food in their indulgent murders and throwing us off?

So it's just... something entirely out of our hands that at this point we can't stop, or do anything about.

If so many of you can't get past one particular thing, don't you suppose that's a problem with you as a collective?

[just pointing that out casually.]

...but unfortunately yes, that's correct. Until we find a source, it's out of our hands.

Which we're trying to sort. [ come out here and solve it yourself, greed :| ] Hopefully it'll work, next time.

Not ideal. But... at least we can try and be prepared for who might be missing.

We'll see. You are becoming more efficient with your time, to say the least. Though I wonder what you could do outside of the trial room.

Think about what we missed. I'm sure there's plenty we haven't found out about, you all can't tell us yet. [ hmm. ]

That seems to be the way of this place. We'll do with it what we can.

It's never a matter of what we can't really tell you. Trials are different. Everything else is negotiable.

[but there's a nod. that seems to take care of that.] ...was there anything else you needed?

So outside of trials you can actually pick and choose what to tell us. [ that's... what he's getting from all that. ]
