If you get caught. Why do you think the murderers go to huge lengths to make sure that doesn't happen?

Not having to take part in a fight to the death would be a pretty big motivator for me. But let me guess -- it counts as a pretty powerful indulgence to murder and not get caught for it?

Yeah. Could be a wrathful killing, or it could be causing a huge amount of despair, or it's envy driving you to do it...there are all kinds of ways it could manifest itself.

And now it's started, there's no incentive to stop.

Yeah. The only incentive is to kill the murderers or something, but then you just create more murderers and those murderers will be people other people want to punish...it's a mess.

The endless loop of revenge, except it's less revenge and more an indulging thing. Sounds like a complete mess.

It was a thought, considering the kind of people who agreed to come. That's why we put it in the welcome guide as a just in case.

I doubt it. [they frown.] People are going to do whatever it takes to survive and get what they came for. Even if we didn't mention it, there'd be people who would ask.

Some people seem surprised by the idea. I fully believe it would've happened, I just... thought it might not be for a few weeks, at least. [ of course there was a KILLER ROBOT so. ]

I was sort of hoping for the same, but...some people got a head start really early. I still feel pretty bad about Tamaki and Beau.

Well, yeah. Neither of them deserved what happened to them.

Yeah, I mean. Fair. Dangerous people who use the fact they're dangerous for nefarious purposes.

Now that HK-47's been voted for, it's gonna be harder to see who else might be dangerous and nefarious.

It might be better the obvious target's been voted for in the first place. There's only so long we could be sat around pretending the robot calling us meatbags wasn't a legitimate culprit.

It won't stop people from choosing to kill, but it might stop one extra death from happening weekly.

Exactly. It was only gonna be a matter of time before something worse happened, especially when he was already talking about shooting Mr. Enomoto and stuff.

And maybe if one threat's gone...everybody else will stop, too.

I think the boulder's already halfway down the hill at this point, Lust. Once it starts rolling, stopping it is difficult. You can only really try and minimise the damages.
