Really? I'd never seen them before. It's just pure sugar and alcohol -- which sounds like a recipe for some kind of eventual disaster.

... How did you all end up here anyway? I know we all agreed to be here, but I have no idea how you all ended up herdining us around. [ he reaches out and tugs at the edge of wrath's cloak hood -- down, not back. he knows wrath doesn't want to remove it. ] In your fancy uniforms and all.

[they startle just slightly at him grabbing their hood, but don't seem to mind, at least.]

We've just been here. And now we're in charge.

[aubins]

[ he gives it a little gentle tug in the same direction but lets go after that. his hand just moves to fiddle with the fabric on their shoulders instead, almost thoughtfully. ]

Just like that, huh?

No coups to overthrow previous rulers? Dramatic rises in power?

[they also don't seem to mind that - they like touch in general, so they just bring their hand up to brush against his.]

Nah, that's way overdramatic. As much as I love a good story, it really is just that boring!

[aubins]

[ a touch loving wrath.... yuri doesn’t pull his hand away. he turns it, so it can rest palm to palm with Wrath’s, and give it a quick squeeze. ]

And before all that? What, or where I guess, were you before all this?

something under their hood twitches.]

Um. What? [...] Oh. Nowhere important.

[aubins]

[ AHHH the mystery thing ]

[ yuri just stares at them for a moment, before sighing ]

You can just say if you don’t want to talk about something. I’m going to try my luck anyway, but it’s not like I can get mad about people keeping secrets.

You sure can't.

[they shrug a little.] It's, uh. It's not that I don't want to, it's just a very complicated question that you just asked me.

[aubins]

[ he sticks his tongue out at them. ] I don't pretend otherwise.

[ hm. ] Is there no easy way to answer it?

I was a lot of things before I was here. Sometimes my memory is a little fuzzy.

[aubins]

[ ... mm. that just gets him another hand squeeze. ]

Does it bother you?

[they just... carefully link their fingers together with yuri's.]

Sometimes. [a sigh.] Memories are... important. But I have other things to worry about. Which I'm not going to tell you about! Secrets.

[aubins]

[ he'll squeeze their hands again when their fingers are laced. ]

No one likes to be forgotten. Or to forget. [ ... he's just gonna tap where he thinks their nose is at that last part though. ] Secrets. Maybe I'll share one of mine for one of yours someday.

[there's a little flash of fire from under their hood at the first half.

he manages to tap what feels like a nose! and then:]

Sure. Sure, someday.

[ the fire-- doesn't make him jump. actually, the corners of his eyes crinkle a little. fondly, more than anything. ]

Someday.

[ well, they're this close now so he's just going to lean on them. it's fine. warm and cosy is good. ] I'm not a fan of forgetting people, so I can at least promise I'll remember this you, and the little things I'll learn.

Try not to make me write you in my book though.

[oh, leaning is good. in fact, they shift to accommodate that, wrapping an arm around him. they're very warm.]

... Your book? [they sound curious.]

[aubins]

[ mm. leaning is good. and very warm is good. yuri's going to end up doing the purring cat thing if he's not careful here. ]

My book. For the people I lose, so they're not forgotten.

[ he's already talked about this once now. wrath can have a little lore as a treat. ]

[maybe that's the goal!]

Ahh. [they bring a hand up to pet his hair absently?] I'm sorry. I can promise you I won't end up there, though.

[ it's working. yuri is leaning in closer. especially once the hair petting starts. ]

Ha. No one can.

[ mmm. ] You can at least try, though.

[they'll just keep doing it, then.]

I can. I don't tend to make promises I can't keep. [...] And I promise you'll be gone before me. So you don't have to worry.

[aubins]

[ good. after a moment, yuri will crack open an eye to look up at them. ]

That'd be tough. I tend to worry, in my own way.

[ is now a good time to mention fire emblem's handwafty-ness on whether yuri is functionally immortal depending on which ending he gets? no? ]
