they lift their head, bump the horn, WAH a bit, and then drop a little. right. the horn. dang. they reach up to press both hands to the hatch and push.

No clue! I've never seen one of these things in my life! Except for when we got here, I mean. When we tried to push the buttons, we got a nasty shock!
And then the whole thing went out!
