Ah, yes... I considered if perhaps we could only see those bodies which are our own. But at one point, I also saw them all vanish, as though they were never there at all.
[ so what are they, really? ]
Sometimes it's difficult to discern reality from illusion here.
I encountered something in the room with the pods. When the bodies vanished—it felt distinctly as though I was being watched.
Then, again—the night that Tamaki was murdered. No one attests to being in the room with me, but it seemed as though someone was there, holding the skull we found as evidence that weekend. This may have been an illusion, but given that I found bone fragments... it seemed real to me.
Both these instances were accompanied by the same noises. [ the skittering sound. ] In one case, I even thought I... felt it pass by me.
[ she sits up straight, frowning. ]
I had considered, perhaps, that it was the work of another person here. Or something that came into existence, influenced by our presence. But even still, I wonder if we aren't alone.
If you find further reason for concern, then yes. Given that it was the first week, it is also possible that some things had not fully settled, and that the recalibration done has resolved the problem.
I see... [ if this is the system while it's functional, it must be Something if it gets broken. ] So it works as designed when one of us murders. Does it provide some sort of aid to would-be killers? I've wondered what the advantage is—perhaps killing is worth more than other forms of indulging?
[ what is the point system here, where is the spreadsheet ]
It is difficult to say whether it is worth more-- but it is, perhaps, a form of indulgence that you stand to benefit from more than others. The fewer who are here working to gain the power they came for, after all, the better for any who wish to ensure they leave with what they require.

[they just think it's interesting they all assume it's real when they are all seeing only their own bodies, but they also aren't saying it's not.]

[they give her a slight nod, along with that.]

[ she looks down at their tea setting, pensive. ]
A related question—do you know if there's something else living here besides us and you all?

[they wave a clawed hand, idly, not quite lazily.]
Personally, I do not believe it requires close examination now, particularly if there has been no recurrence.

[ still, she doesn't look satisfied with the answer. ]
If it does reoccur, I hope you might delve into it with me then.
[ especially if it means another death. ]

[ she cants her head. ]
What is this... recalibration you speak of? Is it sort of tuning of the system that reacts to our indulgences?
[ it sounds like something about this place had answered someone's desire to murder, for example. ]

[but they take a moment to consider, before answering.]
But I suppose that may be close enough, yes.

[ it's fine. ]
Is there anything else you might tell me about this system? Are the irregularities and 'illusions' we see some sort of malfunction?

[looks over to the vira and wrath thread and looks back into the camera.]
I do not believe there is much else to clarify for you for now, however, save for the fact that this place is not malfunctioning.
