Something like that. I don't know if that's necessarily where it stays at all times given it's around plenty, but that satellite's new. We haven't really seen an outside view of the base since we entered it months ago.
It is part-bird...ish. Birdly designed. [furby...] I wouldn't be surprised if it nested though that does make everything a bit more troublesome.
[there's a nod.] That would be correct. We weren't even fully aware of its existence the first time. So for it to provide information now...it must want something from all of us. Despair, maybe. Or perhaps Wrath...?
If getting us mad is giving it what it wants, it's really good at that. [ dryly. but she ruffles maus's fur with one hand and leans her chin on the other ] It's willing to share information, but it hates being seen and talking to us...? It doesn't have that problem with you guys, though.
I meant creepily talking to you, but okay, fair. [ :| ] Then is it just a will thing...? It's different because it chooses to show up versus anyone seeing it when we're not "meant" to?
I don't know why I'm even trying to emotionally understand an AI furby. [ this is why she was racist against nulls. in preparation for this. ] It's literally the worst.
Does it count if it told us its reasoning was literally that it just wants power... [ muffled in the table before she does a phbbbt and raises her head again ] Do you think that's the real reason?
Seeing how it's self-taught, I have wondered if perhaps it's something of a placebo effect. It's getting stronger via other means, but it simply believes it's because of the indulgence.
I have no proof either way, unfortunately. It's another thing to add to the ever-growing list of questions.
So...like, maybe it's just getting stronger because that's what growing up entails? It was made to become organic and that's an organic being thing. [ she frowns a bit ] Not that we can check that or probably even convince it that's a thing.
Maybe. The problem is that some of you have seen proof it ingests indulgences so that leaves us right where we've started. How do you defeat something that's both organic and technology without causing more damage?
It's still partially AI enough that reprogramming it may be viable enough. It's just that it won't be the only solution due to its organic nature as well.
That's a consideration. Separation is something else we've considered, given its attachment to us. If you could find a way to divide it...it's a possibility.

Grossly invasive? Yeah. But then it went on with its own... point of view, with the Beau thing. And I'm guessing you guys don't have that part?

About where Beau went and where the furby... stays?

[ what the fuck is up with the baby. ]
But there's a ton of stuff you guys didn't have access to until we did, right? It's weird. I don't know why it's giving us... all that.

Right. We've talked about reprogramming it, but what if it having a body means it has its own... personality settled in or whatever?

So... a literal divide and conquer.
