[there's a quiet bark and the tail goes 90 mph while maus licks greed's face.]

Mmph! [they bring a hand up to try and make maus stop, but they only succeed in petting the dog instead.] How dare you teach my dog new tricks.

He knew what I meant on his own! He's very smart like that.

He's a menace is what he is. [again, still not meaning it! but he pets maus's head and lets the dog lick his fingers instead.]

The dog I had as a child was a Pomeranian as well. Missile. [it's unnecessary information, but he did mention this to grace briefly. may as well provide the context.]

Missile... [ she repeats it, staring at greed and maus ] Let me guess, he ran around all over the place?

Generally. We found him abandoned by his previous owner. I was the only one with the means to take care of him, so I did. I've thought of getting another dog, but time constraints haven't allowed it lately.

[because takumi says pess exists but who tf knows when.]

Because you're a lawyer who keeps getting involved in false murder accusations?

Among other reasons, yes. But I suppose whenever we do leave, if ever, I've no choice but to bring Maus with me.

[alteracion]

Whenever you don't want to take a case now, you could just go "sorry, my dog needs me". Totally understandable. [ she pets maus, but that joke aside... ] "If ever"? Does this have to do with how you guys came to wind up here?

I could. I very much doubt that would suffice, but it could be worth a try.

[maus is busy getting pets from both grace and greed now.]

...somewhat. I'm sure you've heard by now that we're here to ensure you're indulging enough. We're here for as long as that takes. However long that is remains unknown and up to you.

In theory, yes. In practice...we'll see.

In theory. [ HMMMM. ] How do you guys know all this stuff anyway? Like... did someone tell you, or did you show up here and get the knowledge?

That's what we did on the train, too. [ grace is still in denial that she's wrong about that stuff so it's funny. ] So how did you find them?

I continued searching places that I'm sure we weren't meant to go. [illegal investigations....2] Ask enough questions, you eventually find a direction.
