I have a few questions! And I kind of just want to get to know you.

[ she wanders over to the vending machine, and has it generate a parfait! once it's finished, she takes it and hops onto a counter. (hopefully this gets her closer to their eye level??) ]

Lala called the people assigned to them their "team"... am I really working with the other people who have the same tattoo as me in order to win?

[they allow misa to get something from the vending machine without even budging. patiently waiting, the tail swaying.

she is... yeah, almost on their eye level now.]

"Lala"? We are merely aligned to the same sin. You may work together if you wish, but I believe "Lala" simply enjoys referring to everyone aligned as a team.

You do not all have to win together to win.

Oh—Lala is Lust. Just like how you're Toni! They sound cuter than your titles.

[ misa kicks her feet as she thoughtfully samples the parfait... then she smiles, because it tastes pretty damn good! too bad if gluttony wanted some, though she's sure they won't mind. ]

That's good to know, though. I don't want to have to rely on other people if they're not serious about winning. Misa is in it to win it, after all. [ another bite of the parfait, this time sucking on the spoon a little after she swallows. ] Next question: do all my indulgences have to be gluttony-themed, or can I do whatever and still earn points?

Ah, I see. Understood.

[they shall remember. it doesn't seem as if they mind misa is being greedy with the parfait.]

You should not stray from too far gluttony, if you can. You may partake in other sins; however, doing so will not feel as pleasing. It will not merit you much movement toward what you desire.

[ she suddenly draws her legs up onto the counter and sits on her knees. ]

Then Misa will do her best for Toni, because if I win, then that means Light will finally love me!

[ this ends up manifesting as heart-shaped bubbles surrounding her head. ]

they peer at her for a moment with the glowing orange eyes, and the tail behind them flicks rhythmically.]

Does Light's love truly mean so much to you? Would you really do anything for it...?

[ without any sort of hesitation, she meets gluttony's (approximate) eye and simply says: ]

[a mouth joins the eyes in the shadows of the hood. it smiles wide, and most of the teeth are pretty sharp.]

Then I cannot wait to see what kind of monster you are willing to become once you let go of all you inhibitions, Miss Amane.

[ usually, this sort of display would freak someone out... but not misa! without breaking eye (?) contact with them, her voice very even, almost serious: ]

Toni, are you and the others shinigami?

[the tail swishing low behind them begins flicking irritably at the tip.]

We are not. But there is one of you who is.

Wait, for real?! Their—their Death Note doesn't have its powers either, right?

There is no "Death Note," but they do have in their possession something pertinent to their profession.

It functions without its usual powers.

Huh? How can they be one without a Death Note...?

Unless... "shinigami" means something completely different to them than it does to me?

It is a little different, but not entirely. Perhaps you will have to speak to them. I do not care to entertain death gods.

...mm, I guess.

[ she shifts a little uncomfortably... but she can tell gluttony probably isn't going to say any more than that, if they're telling her to go talk to them herself. but it's fine, another question quickly comes to mind. ]

Oh—am I allowed to be friends with the other Avatars? Like, I won't get in trouble, and you won't get jealous or anything?

Jealous is more becoming of Envy, I would imagine. You may do as you wish, Miss Amane. You will not get in trouble.

I will warn you, however, that a few of them will reject your attempts at friendship. So good luck.

Oh, whew, that's fine! I just wanted to know if that was discouraged among you guys.

Say, Toni? What happens if Misa does a lot of indulging for you? What do you get?

Not at all.

[why do the glowing orange eyes not blink. unnerving.]

The satisfaction of knowing you are well on your way to receiving what it is you desire.

[ joke's on you she's spent enough time around rem and ryuk that she's not fazed at all by the lack of blink ]

Really? That's it? Don't you want anything for yourself?

[misa please for the love of god love yourself and get out of there]

Are you upset in the belief we are not receiving anything for assisting you in your own goals?

Not upset, no... but I'm trying to find a way to understand you. Because people tell Misa that living just for Light's sake is wrong, but his happiness is my happiness, too. He's the most important thing to me in the world, after all. Even if it doesn't seem like it's benefiting me in the end, that isn't how I see it at all.

So... are we really that important to Toni and the others?

[probe]

[hmm. the tail swishes back and forth behind them.]

All of you are extremely important to us, yes. I do not believe anyone is going to change your mind, correct? About your Light. So you shall have to do all that you can to make living for him worthwhile. Yes?

You have already made your choices. There is no going back, Miss Amane. Continue reaching for your goal, and I and the rest of us will be forever grateful.

[ there is no hesitation, no nervousness in either her voice or gaze. ]

So whatever Toni needs done, as long as it doesn't betray Light, Misa will do it, no question! I'll lie, I'll steal, I'll kill! Even...even if that means letting others use me, too! Because he'll forgive me—because sometimes sacrifices are necessary! My Light knows that best of all!

That's the kind of thing Toni wants to hear, right?

[in the shadows of the hood, a mouth curls back to reveal a sharp-toothed smile.]

Very good. I think you will accomplish a great deal here, Miss Amane. Do try not to get ahead of yourself. Everyone else is so ready to burn the candle at both ends. Indulging a lot is good, but we need you all for more than simply a week or two.

You understand, right? Playing the long game. It really makes things more delicious.

Oh—right. I get it.

[ she got ahead of herself in a similar way when she tried to get light to notice her originally, huh... she'll at least allow herself to look as sheepish as she actually feels in response. also, again, the creepy factor does nothing to scare her. in fact, she's becoming more and more comfortable the more she talks to gluttony... smh... ]

Um, you know, you can just call me Misa, by the way. Calling me "Miss Amane" seems kinda... stuffy? Even though you're, like, my boss... all my old managers always called me Misa-Misa, so I think that would be okay for Toni, too.
