Of course it's always someone who's more likeable. What people deem socially acceptable. Most of us are terrible people, but they should admit that everything is more because of their biases than whatever morals they claim to have.

Trials weren't even held when we first arrived months ago. We simply found culprits and things went from there. And if we never found them, there was never a chance to unless it was by accident.

In a perfect world where justice existed, that's exactly what would have happened. But this isn't perfect, and people are hardly perfect despite how much they try. In the end, you all made a decision to let a murderer, by definition, live.
Now comes the part where you have to decide if you all will be able to go forward from here with as much cooperation as you displayed today.

If it's appearing now, I think it doesn't necessarily care about hiding anymore. It doesn't want to be seen entirely yet, but it seems it no longer feels threatened if it's showing itself more frequently.
