[All right, then. That's an answer, to some degree.]
. . . The thirty-eighth person. He died early on. That was the headless corpse that was delivered to Sheila, correct? She likes eating the teeth, so you brought her the skull later. And then his skull wound up in the hot tub somehow.
[the sharp-toothed mouth in the hood smiles foxishly.]
A small correction: I brought her the teeth because she requested them. The skull was to be disposed of; however, it went missing. Apologies it had some interference with your case.
Technically, there can only be seven sins. Eight is still a bit cumbersome, but better manageable. Though... I do suppose that man could have made a fine Despair as he elicited it a lot in other people.
Perhaps you would have enjoyed him much more than the one we have now?
Lust is such a kind, sweet Avatar. And you would accuse us of not giving them a floor to be present on to meet everyone? I believe I also speak for the others in saying we are hurt you would think such a thing.
They are incredibly kind and sweet. When we see orange mist and the word consume, our immediate association is you. Yet when we see, again and again, pink anomalies and strange cat theming, we do not consider it indicative of anything in particular, because Lust is so very kind and sweet.
There is no missing floor. Those rules are reserved for the thirteenth floor of buildings--which is terribly rude because thirteen is a perfectly acceptable number.
I've learned something from speaking with you I wouldn't have otherwise thought to consider. I'm grateful that you've taken the time to get me to understand, in your own unique way.
[Sigh. Kindness is the worst.]
But if one of you eight is dangerous, that is something I am not willing to wait and see how it plays out.
In the space of several days without one, I haven't forgotten about murders. It has been rather considerably on my mind. But I also dislike the notion of surviving here all these weeks only to end up facing something else that I wasn't expecting.
It is possible to be mindful of more than one source of danger, isn't it?
Haha, your worry about the future reminds me of home. Ah. But you are not wrong. It is good to be mindful of more than one source of danger, especially ones close to you.
No one can hurt you more than the people you love, right?

[But. Fine.]
We've had Despair, you, Pride, Greed, and now Envy. So Lust, Wrath, and Sloth remain.

Are you so sure?

I suppose you shall have to find out, Reverend.

How shall I find out. As a surprise when I step off the elevator, or is there some other means?

You just have to be creative.

Why did we never meet him? Why did he die?

[Maybe he would have been a better Gluttony!!
She has no idea of the bullet dodged. Anyway.]
. . . Well. Thank you for your time. It was more productive than I expected.

. . . Ah. I think I understand what you meant, now. There are only seven rings and seven floors, for seven sins.
I think those assuming Despair is the outlier are mistaken. I would posit that there is no floor for Lust.

You are welcome.
[hello once again, post-meeting harrow.]

[they clear their throat.]
Some things may not have any correlation, you understand. I and a few of the rest of us are looking into some of the more peculiar happenings.

Coincidences happen. Is the missing floor in fact Lust's?

Try not to perish before their debut. They would be unhappy.

I think some of you are equally as dangerous as us, would you not say?
no subject
I know that some of us are, and yet it surprises me that you would think so.

We're dangerous to one another. But I wouldn't expect you to think of any of us as dangerous compared to you.
no subject
I only meant, you had worry one of us would turn out to be dangerous, though there are a few among you who have had quite the nefarious plan, too.
