It's passable. [which is to say...] Alcohol isn't my preference, but a glass of wine to socialize is doable.

If you insist. [they seem a little baffled why sqx would meet with them a second time, but alright then.]

I have! They're a great cook - I was impressed. Though, I guess maybe that shouldn't be so surprising?

It should not be a surprise, no. [but it's okay.] Few of us really know how to adequately prepare a meal. I haven't learned to cook much myself.

It's really a marvelous invention! I hope whoever came up with it is very proud of themselves.

I'm sure they are. Why, perhaps if you find out you can even thank them in person. [the words would be more sincere coming from someone else but from greed they sure do sound a little sarcastic.]

[sqx can't figure out if they sound sarcastic because it was a stupid thing to say or if because the person who came up with it is someone they don't get along with]

I'm looking forward to that, too! Will we be able to reach some of the other floors the longer we're here?

Are you sure there are other floors to begin with? State your reasoning.

Well, first of all, we were able to go to a new floor this week that we couldn't access when we first arrived.

Secondly, when the first four Avatars came to visit us, they mentioned being further up! Only, the new floor we have access to doesn't seem like it's where you all were staying.

Also, there were multiple buttons on the elevator when we first arrived. From what I've seen of it thus far, I imagine those would correspond to floors, no?

Who's to say? Maybe that's true, or maybe it's the easiest to believe. The only way to find out is further investigation.

...also, it wouldn't surprise me if we were just confined to these floors until we could be trusted not to keep breaking things.

If only it were so simple. While I can't guarantee you'll proceed from here, the others don't have to know that.
