[luca your flirting. but it's alright because greed nods their agreement because really, don't thank them. not watching is more for their benefit than anything.]
Sometimes even beyond death one continues to learn. As I understand it your sfeer thing is a science, but what else have you studied in the past?
[talk to the others, luca! but greed nods slightly.]
Not directly. Not really. But the things I have interest in are heavily involved in science. I can appreciate logic and facts more than ideals and make-believe.
That makes two of us. Science is important to me because you can reliably predict results. Or, when things to go awry, you can trace back the source and figure out just what went wrong. Even mistakes are a learning experience.
Magic is just...magic. There's no logic to it, it just happens.
While I can't say I've read many books on magic, that's something we can agree on. I've always found it interesting to see what forms of science influence others.
Indeed. When I'm not working, it's one of my favorite hobbies. I was sure to get a bookshelf and fill it up as quickly as I could, as soon as I was an adult and living on my own.
Mine as well, when there's time. [they seem like they might stop there, but then they continue curiously.] What are your favorites to read? Non-fiction only?
I have found a few bits of fiction I enjoy, but most fiction is...well.
[How does he explain it?]
I think I've read a few too many books of "a man goes on an adventure, saves the world, and gets the girl." Or "a girl grows to be a dutiable wife and marries a good man." A little more variety that isn't just "they all die or suffer horrible fates" would be nice.

[Luca is a ho but he keeps his ho-antics to private. Usually. Public flirting when he thinks nobody can understand him is an exception.]
Of course. One never stops learning until they're dead.

Are you a man of science as well? Or woman, or...whatever you may be.

except they seem to grow a little stiff at the mention of magic, but they move on easily.]
The lack of logic is what makes it harder to predict and hard to take seriously.

[He sees that reaction and makes a note of it, but doesn't ask about it yet.]
Besides, the books on the sciences are far more interesting than magic.

[but ah.] You enjoy reading? [tell them more.]

But what would qualify as a tolerable fate?

I'll have to browse my collection and see if I can find something you may like. [they've decided they tentatively respect luca enough for now.]

Ah, well. I thank you for that consideration. Anything you lend me will be well cared for.
[He's being honest too, he's not one to abuse books.]

For now, I can offer you this for your perusal.
