PREMISE
You slowly rouse from a dreamless sleep, unaware of how you arrived…
…just kidding. You know precisely what happened, don’t you? After all, you did say yes. That one little wish you want for yourself? Or perhaps you’re someone who has lost something and will do anything to get it back. Or even still…you may be someone who has grand ideas to change your life and took the opportunity to do so.
Ah, it’s coming back to you now, isn’t it? That moment where time was suspended and a bright flash of color danced before your eyes, a whispered word of promise in your ear.
“Isn’t it time to give in to your desires? We won’t tell.”
But the moment you agree…
…a finger on the monkey’s paw curls.
Without warning, you find yourself in a large room with dozens of others. You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you? Everyone knows that it’s way more satisfying when you earn things yourself. But the question now is…just how far are you willing to go?
Go on. Indulge a little.
GAMEPLAY
7rings is a short-termed murder game centering on the themes of indulgence, sins, and personal conflict and choice. Let’s focus on seven little things to keep in mind, shall we?
⚡︎ Characters are being brought into the game on an ic willing basis. That is to say, there should be no confusion as to why they are there. They have agreed to participate for a shot to earn their deepest desire.
⚡︎ With that said, characters will also have an understanding that in order to get what they wish for, they’ll have to give in to their other desires. Characters will enter the game with the knowledge that indulgence is key…how they interpret that is up to them.
⚡︎ Characters will come to learn that an effective way to indulge is via intercourse…that is to say, all characters will be 18+.
Here are some ways you can indulge in an 18+ manner:
- Powerbottoming
- Exhibitionism
- Make someone worship you
- Leave marks on someone
- Comfort someone intimately
- Public kisses
- Dominate someone
⚡︎ However, there are plenty of other ways to indulge that don’t include sex. Characters will have to get a little creative and take advantage of the setting around them in order to earn their goal.
Here are some ways you can indulge without intercourse:
- Complain about someone behind their back
- Sincerely compliment multiple people in public
- Make someone worship you
- Leave marks on someone
- Comfort someone intimately
- Public kisses
- Kill someone in the simplest way possible
- Punch someone in the face
- Tell someone your tragic backstory
Keep in mind that your only limit is your imagination, and should you be unsure of what counts you're free to ask your mods at any time.
⚡︎ Everything you see may not be what’s real. Characters will have to decide for themselves what they choose to believe and what path they wish to take on their journey. Your outcome may be very different than someone else’s.
⚡︎ There’s no such thing as going too far…
⚡︎ …after all, your happy ending is completely in your hands. It’s not impossible to reach! But characters will quickly learn they must do whatever it takes to achieve their dreams for themselves…including finding a way back to where they came from.
TRIALS AND INVESTIGATIONS
Our schedule will operate as follows:
MONDAY-THURSDAY: Each Monday will begin with a weekly mingle for characters. Much like games in the past, there will be new things to do each week for characters to interact with the setting. These mingles will go up at 9am PST/12pm EST/5pm GMT/4am NZST. In addition, sometimes during the week mini-events or other adventures will take place based on player action and mod scheduling. We will notify players in advance should this occur.
THURSDAY MORNING: On Thursday morning, we will unscreen the weekly curfew toplevel for players to reply with their curfew status for the week! This is the time to tell your mods where your character will be staying during the hours kills may occur. For the purpose of this game, we do ask that players submit their curfew no later than 5pm PST/8pm EST/1am GMT/12pm NZST. Should characters be in certain locations, special effects may take place. If you are not able to submit a comment yourself during those hours due to work, etc, we will also allow players to include other characters in their comment. For example, if player B can’t submit their comment but plans to spend curfew with player A, player A may submit a comment stating: “A&B will be in X!”
We do not accept late curfew posts to be included in the bonus mechanic! More information will be available once the curfew mechanic kicks in.
FRIDAY: Similar to

bluesclues and notagain, Friday will be body announcement day along with a mini-investigation! What this means is that characters will learn the name(s) of the victim(s) for the week, and sign-ups will be available for a mini-investigation. For those who sign up, the mod team will then provide a small paragraph of potential findings for characters to discover and share amongst themselves. We will not be hosting a traditional investigation on these days.SATURDAY: We’re sure you’ll all be very shocked to learn that Saturday is Trial Day! All characters will be required to attend ICly and we do ask that players are available for these days. If you need to miss a trial, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance so we may plan accordingly! Trials will begin at 9am PST/12pm EST/4am NZST and will end at 6pm PST/9pm EST/1pm NZST unless stated otherwise. A one hour break will also take place at 1pm PST/4pm EST/8am NZST for players to step away for lunch/dinner, and for mod tags to pause. ICly characters will not be able to leave the trial unless ICly dismissed early.
Since we're not hosting traditional investigations on Fridays, trial days will also be the time characters can begin to explore the setting to look for clues, test theories, and start to piece together the crime committed in order to narrow it down to a potential culprit.
IC voting will also be live at the start of the trial and close at the end.
Once the vote is closed, we will announce the party with the majority of votes.
SUNDAY: Sundays will be execution day! This is the day in which a selected party will come forward to execute the character with the majority of votes. While executions are not mandatory the way trials are, they are open to the public to witness. Executions will begin at 10am PST/1pm EST/5am NZST.
This cycle repeats until we hit an ending to the game!
VOTING
As noted above, characters will be given the option to vote during each trial! However, voting is not mandatory, though it is highly encouraged. This does not mean players should miss trials if they can help it! Participation makes for a successful and fun trial, so we ask that all players be available to the best of their ability. The only exception will be if you let us know ahead of time that you will be unavailable for any particular trial. Please try not to miss several trials or two trials in a row.
There will be a special screened post for votes during each trial. There will be comments to vote for culprits and these will be linked with every trial for ease of navigation.
REPORTING
What is an Indulgence Report?
In lieu of making votes mandatory, however, we will be enabling an indulgence reporting system! Every Sunday at the end of the week, we will ask players to submit a comment providing links showing their character engaging with the setting. More specifically, these threads should show characters indulging in the setting either via sex or other means. We will provide examples of how indulgence can be rated. Please note: we will not force people to play sexual content.
What happens if I don't turn in a report?
Much like not voting in other games, not turning in a report will net an IC punishment to be determined at the time reporting closes. If you are having trouble meeting a requirement for your report during the week, please be sure to reach out to your mods for guidance/clarification! Otherwise, you will be responsible for your own reporting and your own content.
FAQ
What is the pacing of the game?
Our game will be running on a 1:1 schedule. Most of your mods are PST, but we will announce the times for all posts for all timezones as they occur. Please refer to the above timeline for when important posts will go up.
Do I have to be present for every trial?
If something comes up and you are unable to be present for a trial, please let us know in advance! We prefer 48+ hours in advance, but if you come to us really early before the trial starts or in the first hour of the trial we will be a bit lenient. If you do not let us know in advance, you will be killed off in-game.
How long will the game last?
We're aiming for a minimum of six weeks, a maximum of eight weeks.
Should a player need to leave the game prior to endgame, please speak with the mod team and we will discuss the next steps with you.
If I die early what happens next?
We will have a graveyard for characters to continue playing in and participating in! You can do open threads on the main graveyard post, or you may have private conversations with other dead characters.
Private conversations?
Private conversations! Sometimes your character (or a group of characters) will want to get together with people to spend time together or share information or whatever. This would become a private conversation that isn't shared with the game at large. For a refresher on setting up filters, etc, please check the Private Conversations page when the page is open.
How active do I have to be?
We would like to see that players are participating either via weekly mingles, private threads, or both in addition to participation in trials! The game functions best when all players are active and engaging, so please keep this in mind when apping in! We ask that your time be managed well. If we notice that a character isn't really present for weeks, we do reserve the right to place your character up for killing via AC kill.
How do I contact the mod team for any questions/concerns/murder plans?
We will be operating on Discord with a main server for the game! To flag your team with questions/concerns/plans, please create a group chat with Anna, Flurry, Teej and Ty. Our handles are available in the server itself.
RULES
1.) Please be nice! This is a game specifically created with the intention of all of our friends playing together in a fun environment, so we would really love for our friends to treat each other well. Please remember that IC =/= OOC and while murdergames can be competitive we ask that everyone treats everyone else with respect.
2.) Please be active! Yes, we've said it like six times in this page alone but this is a Very Big Thing!
3.) Like all games past, there are bound to be secrets that come up in-game, OOC opportunities presented to characters and more. We ask that you keep these secrets an OOC secret! While we understand there are some things that may come up ICly later, half the fun is messing with your friends and working behind the scenes.
4.) Keep in mind that this is a murdergame which means your character is just as likely to die as the next! Whether that's in week one or week six, if your character is chosen to be a victim that week they will be sent to the chopping block.
5.) Once again, this is a game where powers are nerfed for the time being! While your character may be the strongest most powerful person in their canon it will not mean much here. Oops.
6.) We will not be accepting duplicates of any given character at this time.
7.) Finally, if at any time you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about something in-game please contact us! As this is a game of our friends, we hope that you guys will come talk to us immediately so that we can get things straightened out and help where we can.
