...I will tell you, with complete honestly, that I have killed plenty of people in my life. [ part of being a soldier. ] ... And I have never experienced such an utterly bizarre event as I did last night.

[she leans into his forehead kiss, and then slides her hands up into his hair to tangle into it. she wants a kiss, so she takes it, soft, unhurried, but - if he lets her - deep. intense, like she's committing him to memory, just in case.
she has faith that he'll make it, but she also knows what the jail cell looks like. if this is all she has left, she's going to take advantage.]
[ there's no hesitation, when lup leans up and asks for a kiss. he exhales, making a soft noise, and for the moment reveling in the way the deep, slow kiss sends a shiver down his spine. it's more than just the increased sensation of the press of their mouths together when his senses are down - there's something to the kiss itself that's just overall more.
his hand at the back of her neck tightens a bit, and the other finds its way to her waist, curling against the fabric of her robes to pull her in closer to him, to give just as good as he's giving. it's slow and warm and tender, and he leans into it, cognizant of the moment, and what it means.

[he kisses her sweet and steady and with feeling, and a rush of heat curls through her, head to toe. she's tired, but she feels so much, all at once, so much that her heart thuds in her chest. alive, alive, alive.

[ it's okay if she ruins the moment. gu yun is a professional moment ruiner himself, so. his mouth curls into a smile in the close space between them, just a little bit mischievous, though it's mostly just fond, a gentle look. ]
I had a good teacher - and found the lessons very engaging.
[ fufufu. that giggle's definitely preferred, so he doesn't mind hamming it up a bit to get it. outside of being smooth and silly, though, after the kiss, gu yun hums, and tips his head forward a bit to gently nudge their noses together. ]

curiously though, if he keeps his hand around the back of her neck, he might feel something strange. a mark, or rather, something that feels more like an injury. a small, healing hole, ridged around the edges like a burn. huh.]
gu yun's a little longer to fall asleep. despite a long, long night, there's still a lot on his mind, and... yeah. stroking the back of her neck, he finds that, sensitive touch gentling over it before they stop at the edge.

he's awake for a lot longer than he thought he would be, after that.
-- so. it's an hour or so later when he's rousing and getting ready to get up and head for the medbay, but a conversation's lingering on his mind even now, so. as he's getting himself back together, fixing his robes and combing his hair that he glances back at lup for a moment. ]
