Nobody is ordering anything. All of you are doing whatever you want to. If that means killing each other, that means killing each other. None of us are telling any of you what to do.
[they shift, crouching down to touch one of the roses. it blooms, bright and vibrant.]
[ about the answer he expected. gu yun taps his hand against the inside of his arm, watching the rose bloom, before he looks at the back of his own hand. ]
What happens if my form of indulgence, of pride, is staying alive?
No, I'm not. [ find a way to stand, or hang yourself. ]
This past week, I received a 'special reward', [ he does not imitate the uwu speak ] as did many others. [ it seems a bit of an abrupt topic change, but. he reaches into the pocket of his robe and pulls forth the black iron emblem, letting pride look, if they want to. ] A token from home.
[ yeah. he makes an agreeing noise, hand curling back around the black iron emblem for a moment before he tucks it away, expression thoughtful, returning back to the flowers ahead. ]
I don't know the metric for "how much". So, my second question. What sort of rewards come, if you indulge into the extremes? Surely, HK-47's desire wasn't immediately granted, despite the immensity of the size of his action. I'd say kicking off a pattern of destruction is pretty indulgent for a creature like that.
Our two killers last week escaped with their lives. Are they grateful that they were able to indulge freely, and that's their due reward? That they're a little closer to achieving that desire they want?
They wanted to do it, so they did it. I'm not going to tell you what they got out of it. [they look up at the roses again.] If you end up wanting to do what they did, we can talk. Otherwise, you're just going to have to wonder.
You're remarkably unhelpful, you know. [ is this how shen yi feels??? damn maybe he owes him a drink when he gets back home (nah). he doesn't sound particularly aggrieved, at least. ]
Alright, alright. One more thing. Is there a general metric? In terms of what's more 'valuable', and what isn't, within aspects that would be considered 'prideful'? Obviously, doing something aligned to that is what works best.
[ god he wishes he could grab their cheeks and pINCH THEM right now. whatever they look like under there!!!! ]
Great. I've gotten the picture. [ you are so helpful.
ah. ] Mm. Out of curiosity - I suppose I'm not expecting an answer - but have you given out a gift to anyone here? Is that something you all can do often?
I don't typically give gifts when I'm asked. [or ever but that's a different story.] Ask the Avatar you're sleeping with if you want special treatment.
gu yun is shameless, however, so he just laughs, waving a hand. ] Ahaha! Isn't that special enough treatment? Sorry, sorry.
[ he's not sorry. like at all. at least it was one fuck alarm this time and not two? at the same time?
anyway the annoying laugh stops after a second, though, grin softening a bit. ] ...I was just wondering if there was a limit, is all. If you're feeling particularly generous, Molly used his.
there's a pause, like he's thinking pride's last statement over. he looks away from them, over to the flowers all around, thoughtful... and then, he smiles, twinkly. ] You're full of surprises.
...Besides, we aren't friends, so, how should I know? [ TEASES he's the worst ]

How did I earn this?

You just said it yourself - I'll have to do whatever it takes to stay alive.

Good for you. Come to me with an actual plan and we'll talk, Gu Yun.

An educated guess. We're not friends, but you're not an idiot.

[ wow... made pride laugh and got a compliment all in one week. we're moving up in the world. ]
Then, if not generosity, think of it as me just offering a bug for your ear, is all.
[ fufu. amused again, he folds his hands behind his back. ] Is the garden yours, Pride? Speaking of educated guesses.

[they'll admit that. it's hard for them to not admit that. it's obvious.
they're also going to ignore everything else he said. sorry not sorry.]
