POPULATION: GHOST TOWN

You die - and then you wake up.

For a second, it feels as though you can't breathe, and then your head breaks the surface. You crawl out of a pool of blood and into a large, crystalline room. Moving images play across the crystal walls, and if you watch close enough, you'll realize that you're seeing the land of the living; a familiar space station with familiar faces. You can watch these images for as long as you'd like - there are several very large benches (as in, you have to climb them to sit on them) around the room for you to rest on while you do.

Regardless of how you died, it seems as though you're not quite gone completely. You're in one piece, at least. That's good news. However, your surroundings are not exactly what you remember.

When you exit the first room, a bleak, empty city sprawls out ahead of you.

The city itself is large. The framework of it seems to tower higher and higher than you can see, up into the black opal sky that shivers and curls every so often. A river entirely made of blood runs through the city, winding around buildings and ending at the crystal room. The most noticeable thing about the buildings themselves is the fact that thorny vines made of pure white steel dig into the walls and floor, cracking the foundations.

The residential building is worn down and old. It's two floors, and has a few small studio apartments built for one or two people to live in. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. It has a communal area downstairs, but the TV is broken, and the couches are torn apart. Sometimes, this building feels obscenely hot in temperature, and smells like rotten eggs.

The grocery store is your typical convenience store. There's a large selection of food in this area, but it all tastes the same - like chalk. On top of this, every so often there will be bloodstains on the walls, the floor, and the displays. They change in size and location, each time you enter the store.

The clothing store is thrifty in nature. All the clothes here are uncomfortable and scratchy, and don't fit quite right. While you're here, time feels... weird. Distorted, almost dreamy. As you're picking out clothes and trying them on (no money needed, just take what you want), you swear you can hear a gunshot in the distance.

Enjoy your time in this city, and remember...your story isn't quite over yet.

Luca looks at the space where Vlad had been, then down to where Vlad is, then up to Steven.]

[ I'll say Vlad got back on his feet sometime after Luca's punch, but Steven's kick sends him toppling right back over again, splashing straight into the blood pool again.

He just sputters and blows some bubbles in the blood pool while he flails to get his head above water. ]

[ I'm sorry does Steven know whether it's possible for a person to die again, yet? Not sure! But he doesn't seem to care as he just puts his foot right on Vlad's head as he's struggling in the bloody pool, shoving him down. Not enough to forcibly drown him, apparently, but just enough to make him miserable.

He's got the kindest smile on his face you'll ever see to Luca! ]

No, I'm afraid I never got to see the trial. I take it that you were murdered as well? Maybe by this sad pile of incorrigible human waste?

Ah, no. Endorsi gutted me and slit my throat. But Vlad and Mahito stopped to help her consume my croissants while all three of them watched me bleed out.

I'm guessing they got him after, since he's here too. And they were trying to kill him before they all stopped for a snack. Really, he is an idiot.

[ He tries to say something, but he can't, because he just keeps getting dunked back into the blood. He flails his arm helplessly trying to grasp onto Steven's leg and maybe yank him off balance. ]

[ EVENTUALLY, Steven will give Vlad one last shove with his foot before he stops doing this, kicking off Vlad's grasp on his leg. Stop. ]

Ah, those two? Unexpected, but then again -- I didn't strike you as someone who would be murdered.

Though, this place looks awfully empty so far for being some kind of afterlife.

And I didn't know I was going to be killed. I fell asleep before everyone got knocked out, so I thought it was morning when I woke up. I was just going to get breakfast before waking Omi and Yuri up.

[ Well, now that Vlad isn't actively being held down under the blood, he'll lean up just enough to grasp Steven's wrist and try to yank him down into the blood while pulling himself up. ]

[kaz is just eating peanut butter out of a jar with a spoon.]

Just an FYI! He won't die, he'll definitely suffer!

[ Fuck you Vlad, he digs his heels into the ground!! Unfortunately, Steven IS a very practiced combatant so if anything, he'll accidentally be helping pulling Vlad up instead of getting himself dragged down for Blood Pool Round 2. He doesn't look happy about it but will yank his hand free as soon as Vlad's out. ]

Tch. [ That's all. Luca, on the other hand, be free. ]

[ Damn. Well. If pulling him down didn't work, Vlad is going to try to give Steve a decent kick to the back of his knees in an attempt to get him to buckle into the blood pool. ]

[ STOP. Vlad gets that petty kick in but with YOUR STICK LEGS? He stumbles if only because it was an unexpected low blow, splashing around in more blood pool blood water, but he gives Vlad such a look. ]

If you don't fucking stop, I will honest to all gods and devils, hold your head down under until you drown with your lungs fucking full of blood and all the vessels in your brain burst.
