well, pride is here in the garden, though they are definitely sitting down, and they're sort of hidden in the flowers a little. they don't get up when the four of them approach, but they do look up. they're dripping blood from under the hood. that's probably fine.]

[It's a good thing they say that because, you know, Sheila had absolutely just opened her mouth to fuss. She snaps it shut with a click of her teeth, frowning, and nods.]

It does have to do with these... adventures. I assume Harrowhark has mentioned I intended to look. [they pull their robes closer, a little like they're cold.] I did look. And I did see her. Though not in the form you described.

[It's probably rude to pepper him with these questions in the middle of his explanation but it's a four person thread what are you gonna do.]

[ it is a four-person thread, in this case she'll cut pride a break though, looking a little... hopeful? relieved? cautiously so, but she can't help it, waiting for the other shoe to drop. ]

These are... they're not going to stop happening. [which they hate, a lot, judging by their tone.] I experienced - not exactly what you have described to me, but close. A long repeating hallway with experiences I don't care to remember waiting behind every corner.

The theme was less about hunger and more about wanting what someone else had. I don't often care what others have, so it was... jarring.

[a sigh.]

I walked the same hallway over and over, in a loop, knowing that the others had left me behind. That I was going to lose. Didn't know what I was going to lose, just that I was. I would consider it a test.

A phone rang, and I heard Mercy's voice on the other side, asking me to... [a pause.] ... to not leave her alone.

[It just calls to mind how she'd sounded as they died - her tiny voice in her head.]

[ though the wiser part of her knows these are just illusions, it makes her wonder how many times mercy has lost people like this, and who she'd lost before them.

she closes her eyes a moment. ]

pride just breathes for a moment, and then:]

Briefly. She was with her mother at the end of the hallway. They went through the door. I tried to follow, but I ended up back at the start. [they're just listing this off clinically, now.] Went through the hallway a few more times. Followed the sound of a familiar voice until I found Envy, again.

[a pause.] Envy threw himself in front of a blow meant for me. I'm still not... entirely sure why.

[There is so much she hates about everything Pride just said, so the reply she settles on is:]

Mostly because Pride ended up in a way worse shape than Envy so, like. Good job, Envy! You failed. You did nothing. Terrible job, everyone.]
