Little decisions like that wouldn't impact the over-all plot. So they don't really matter.
Are you sure? What if...what if you wanted cookie dough ice cream, but they were all out that day and you had to settle for chocolate? But you were really, really in the mood for cookie dough and now your whole day is thrown off! Wouldn't your feelings change how the plot goes?
